Soundtrack for a Hoosier Green Legacy

All great celebrations need music, right? Thankfully, we weren't the only ones to think so. As we prepare to head into the last six months of our Bicentennial celebration year, an amazing group of Hoosier musicians have shared their extraordinary talents and creativity to bring about this album, "Songs of Sustainable Indiana" to help us set our Green Legacy to song.

The collection features many beloved local artists, such as Carrie Newcomer, with her song "Geodes." The album begins with rising stars, Lily and Madeleine, sisters from Indy, and their song "The Devil You Know." Bloomington singer-songwriter, Travis Punterelli is featured with a haunting song, "The Seagull's Lament." Indianapolis band, Bigfoot Yancy, always a crowd favorite, shares the lively "Downtown Girl."

Many of the songs are woven with delicate threads of the message of sustainability and some make powerful statements about how we live. The whole album is a gift, to us, to our communities, and to all the celebrations will be hosting this year around Indiana.

We are grateful to Jesse Lacy and Robert Meitus for their time and passion in making this project possible, as well as all the composers, musicians, and technicians who have contributed.
